#WomenOfTheScriptures Tabitha!! ACT 1: PROVERBIAL WOMAN

Shalom sisters!

This week we are discussing Tabitha (which means gorgeous). Her story is found in Acts 9:36-42 KJV. There isn't much about her genealogy, except that Tabitha was also called Dorcas in Greek, which means "Gazelle" or a follower of the Messiah...did you know the Gazelle runs at 50 MPH.. Go figure..1 Cor 9:24 #SomebodyGonnaGetItOnThe2ndRead

Now, this was NO ordinary woman, although many of us have never even heard of "Tabitha".. She was known for her good works, acts of love throughout the land, one who sewed for others, and gave to those in need. I know a few sisters like that. It doesn't say she charged or anything and based on what the scriptures say, she was "giving and kind". As I always say, we can learn a lot about these women. Think about how special they were to have earned a place in the bible..ESPECIALLY if they are named! Sheesh is all I will say. But Tabitha was adhering to scripture (that wasn't even "written" yet) Philippians 2:4 - Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (John 13:34-35 Proverbs 28:27 Matthew 25:40 are just a few others!

Scripture doesn't say if she was married or etc, only that she followed the Messiah and was giving. I noted two critical things here.. Can you guess?

Meet me here tomorrow as we learn what little there is about Tabitha. Is there anyone who knew of her before reading this blog? IF so, what was your thoughts
