👑Judith had the courage of a lioness and was graced with beauty. She was also a widow whose husband had left her financially independent, and she lived a simple life, fasting and praying. [She never remarried].. Judith is the only woman in the scrip who asks God to make her a good liar. In Judith 9:10 and again in 9:13, she petitions The Most High for “deceitful words” that will wound those who have planned harm against her people.
⁉️But who was she really.. I look at how we all hollering P31.. but who really walking that life? Judith was a widow.. Aftet her husband died..ALTHOUGH it was lawful, she did not remarry. [Can anyone guess why?] I mean Scripture says she was beautiful and a woman of good countenance.. so why did she choose to be a widow? [Romans 7:2 is clear!!]..
We are introduced to Judith in Chapter 8:1-10 Now at that time Judith heard thereof, which was the daughter of Merari, the son of Ox, the son of Joseph, the son of Ozel, the son of Elcia, the son of Ananias, the son of Gedeon, the son of Raphaim, the son of Acitho, the son of Eliu, the son of Eliab, the son of Nathanael, the son of Samael, the son of Salasadal, the son of Israel. And Manasses was her husband, of her tribe and kindred, who died in the barley harvest. For as he stood overseeing them that bound sheaves in the field, the heat came upon his head, and he fell on his bed, and died in the city of Bethulia: and they buried him with his fathers in the field between Dothaim and Balamo. So Judith was a widow in her house three years and four months. And she made her a tent upon the top of her house, and put on sackcloth upon her loins and ware her widow's apparel. And she fasted all the days of her widowhood, save the eves of the sabbaths, and the sabbaths, and the eves of the new moons, and the new moons and the feasts and solemn days of the house of Israel. She was also of a goodly countenance, and very beautiful to behold: and her husband Manasses had left her gold, and silver, and menservants and maidservants, and cattle, and lands; and she remained upon them. And there was none that gave her an ill word; ar she feared God greatly. Now when she heard the evil words of the people against the governor, that they fainted for lack of water; for Judith had heard all the words that Ozias had spoken unto them, and that he had sworn to deliver the city unto the Assyrians after five days; Then she sent her waitingwoman, that had the government of all things that she had, to call Ozias and Chabris and Charmis, the ancients of the city.
So here we see,her husband left her his wealth.. Yet she still dresses din sack cloths as she was mourning... The most important thing I read was: Sis feared The Most High..and nobody spoke ill towards her, she was respected. As I always say dress how you desire to be adDRESSed! now..imagine if she was out there just wilding out..well don't think we would be reading about her in this book named Judith #SomebodyGonnaGetItOnThe2ndRead
So here is the gist:
📣The plot: So the Israelites defied Nebuchadnezzar..[u got to read why] Holofernes, the enemy general who has been sent by Nebuchadnezzar to reek havoc on all who didn't conform.. One of the princes, Achior of the Ammonites, spoke on behalf of Israelites. He praised them as a people, and begged Holofernes to not to harm them. He wasn't hearing that..see Holofernes was not pleased with Achior either. He had him seized, tied up, and left outside the walls of the town. Holofernes also successfully attacks Bethuliah..
Now... In comes Judith who changes everything!!
