Shabbat Shalom Beautiful Sisters!
🍓The fruit this week is Love! But until we answer What is Love?.. How to love? we are really going Nowhere fast! 👏🏾
❤️Love is a verb, a word of action (because even when you say it, there should be a follow thru) So of course I said, 🤔.. let me see what Google says just for kicks:😂
According to Google , Love means to be deeply committed and connected to someone or something. The basic meaning of love is to feel more than liking towards someone. It is a bond that two people share.
According to the Dictionary: it could be a noun or verb.. and described as an intense feeling of deep affection or feel deep affection for (someone).
According to the Greek Definitions of Love
The ancient Greeks had anywhere between four and eight different words for love (depending on the source):
- Storge: affection
- Philia or Phileo: friendship
- Eros: sexual, erotic
- Agape: unconditional, divine, selfless
- Ludus: flirtatious, playful, casual, uncommitted
- Pragma: committed, long-standing
- Philautia: self-love
- Mania: obsessive, possessive, addictive, dependent
Love is and always has been a complex concept. Is it an emotion, a state of being, a choice, an ability, a gift, a force, or all of the above?
🧐Well? Let’s pause... quite a few meanings but what do you think about that? Interesting to me! While all are valid I assume IF we are going about it with worldly standards I would say it’s spot on! BUT what does any of those have to do with the Fruits of the spirit?? How does being erotic of have a deep affection challenges me to operate in a spiritual sense?? 🤷🏾♀️ Here’s the gist according to the TRUE SOURCE, the only one the matters: So if we go to 1 John 4:8 it basically says if you don’t love, you don’t know The Most High because HE is love! Then we see in John 14:15 it says IF you love The Most High, you will keep HIS commandments. Love, scripturally means obedience to The Most High 1st, keeping HIS commandments .. See it you do that, you love HIM and will abide by what HE says goes. Simple right? It should be... BUT there’s a second part that is just as important as the first... we will dive into that tomorrow!
🛡Takeaway: By keeping the Commandments which causes you to prove you love The Most High and commit to live righteously, you are operating in the spirit of love because HIS laws are not grievous.
🍓1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous
“God“-The Most High POWER, FATHER of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob whom the promise was given to.
