Shalom sisters! I pray you all have had a peaceful Sabbath and starting the day off with a renewed spirit..
When we left off yesterday, Susanna had been sentenced to death.. All she did was act RIGHTEOUSLY and held her peace when she was accused. Think about if we were in the boat, would we have followed her footsteps? I asked myself this all evening and if I am being transparent. I probably would not have acted so calmly! I would have been very upset and questioned why these men were not judged for their actions... HOWEVER let's continue: verse 44-64 And the LORD HEARD her voice. Therefore when she was led to be put to death, the Lord raised up the holy spirit of a young youth whose name was Daniel: Who cried with a loud voice, I am clear from the blood of this woman.Then all the people turned them toward him, and said, What mean these words that thou hast spoken? So he standing in the midst of them said, Are ye such fools, ye sons of Israel, that without examination or knowledge of the truth ye have condemned a daughter of Israel? Return again to the place of judgment: for they have borne false witness against her. Wherefore all the people turned again in haste, and the elders said unto him, Come, sit down among us, and shew it us, seeing God hath given thee the honour of an elder. Then said Daniel unto them, Put these two aside one far from another, and I will examine them. So when they were put asunder one from another, he called one of them, and said unto him, O thou that art waxen old in wickedness, now thy sins which thou hast committed aforetime are come to light. For thou hast pronounced false judgment and hast condemned the innocent and hast let the guilty go free; albeit the Lord saith, The innocent and righteous shalt thou not slay. Now then, if thou hast seen her, tell me, Under what tree sawest thou them companying together? Who answered, Under a mastick tree. And Daniel said, Very well; thou hast lied against thine own head; for even now the angel of God hath received the sentence of God to cut thee in two. So he put him aside, and commanded to bring the other, and said unto him, O thou seed of Chanaan, and not of Juda, beauty hath deceived thee, and lust hath perverted thine heart. Thus have ye dealt with the daughters of Israel, and they for fear companied with you: but the daughter of Juda would not abide your wickedness. Now therefore tell me, Under what tree didst thou take them companying together? Who answered, Under an holm tree.Then said Daniel unto him, Well; thou hast also lied against thine own head: for the angel of God waiteth with the sword to cut thee in two, that he may destroy you. With that all the assembly cried out with a loud voice, and praised God, who saveth them that trust in him. And they arose against the two elders, for Daniel had convicted them of false witness by their own mouth: And according to the law of Moses they did unto them in such sort as they maliciously intended to do to their neighbour: and they put them to death. Thus the innocent blood was saved the same day. Therefore Chelcias and his wife praised God for their daughter Susanna, with Joacim her husband, and all the kindred, because there was no dishonesty found in her. From that day forth was Daniel had in great reputation in the sight of the people.
So Daniel spoke up and called them fools for not judging the matter RIGHTEOUSLY. So Daniel said let me examine them..He asked them to be separated and then asked one question one after the other "Under what type of tree did yall see this man and Sis Susanna occur?" ..they both answered differently and Dainel called them wicked and liars and told The Most High would split them in two! The community cried out praising The Most High for sending a RIGHTEOUS man to judge the whole matter..cuz the blood would be on their hands for putting to death an innocent woman... Susanna's husband her family also praised The Most High..But although it isnt mentioned..I am sure Susanna also thanked The Most High for saving her once again...Her praise was special and one of faith, hope, and gratitude..
Deuteronomy 1:30- The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
Deuteronomy 3:22- Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you
Remember the Scripture says The Most High is a power of war!!!
Deuteronomy 20:4- For the LORD your Godishe that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
The Most could have used anyone to speak up for her..BUT HE chose Daniel.. And if you read about Daniel...then u know the man he grew into..
Daniel according to the scripture was just a youth..a babe! Think about all the elder men including her Father and Husband.. why wasnt the spirit poured on them to speak up for her? Again..The Most High chooses who he chooses and to be honest, I don't think they would have believed them or trusted them to make a RIGHTEOUS judgement- over the two well renown "elders"... And they would have not been able to heed a woman..so HE had to send help for a reason... remember when we studied Tabitha.. look at both these endings..similar right?? HIS will be done..for HE is WORTHY to be praised..
🛡 Takeaway: TRUST in The Most High in all things. HE will have the last say eventually. Susanna was propositioned by elders who threatened her and she was aware even then that what they planned to speak out against her was nothing compared to sinning in the midst of her FATHER.. I ask you today, what's important to you? Will you have that courage of Susanna when it comes to choosing this day who you will serve... REGARDLESS to who says what.. I know I said I wouldn't have.. BUT now yes, I will... I will hold and wait on The Most High to move.. #FaithLevels
