Shalom sisters!
Before I continue, for the sisters who are joining the #womenofthescripture conference call tonight: We are talking about Delilah tonight 🙌🏾.. If you want to join in, shoot me a message or email: dontdeletemesis@gmail.com or visit the site dontdeletemesis.com and send me chat! So as we discussed yesterday there isn’t that much written about Tabitha’s life EXCEPT the most important thing.. She loved the Messiah and followed Him. She loved her people and cared for them. She exhibited the traits of a Proverbs 31 (even with no book). She was a giving person and like I mentioned, I know a few sisters who have these same traits! Let's get to the scripts! I do wish there was more scripture to tell us about her background..BUT again, we know all we need to! We have the bible and our foremorthers examples.. i called that a little bit of that #FAVORADVANTAGE‼ These sisters are mentioned so we can be better [Proverbs 31:29.. I mean why wouldn't we be.. we got the BrewPrint!!]
Acts 9:3-3 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
Here we see that Tabitha was called a disciple OFF the top, that means she followed The Messiah..so we know she loved The Most High..and her actions proved that. Now Tabitha was in the area within the land of Joppa where Brother Peter visited AND preached so we know she was listening when he came thru [Acts 9:40-43].. Again, we don't know if she was married, a mother, wealthy...BUT I do know she was enRICHed with charity and took joy in doing it [Gal 6:8, Psalms 37:3, Matt 5:16] Psalms 37 tells us to TRUST in The Most High and do good and u will dwell on the land and be fed! Now that's my sisters is Deep! #SomebodyGonnaGetItOnThe2ndRead ...
♥️We can all agree that Sis Tabitha was a VIRTUOUS woman in her actions which is why she was loved. Now think about how taxing it may have been for Tabitha to keep up with not only you, but the needs of others. Just like for us, ok I will speak on me.. lol It sometimes gets overwhelming to have a full plate and a bowl of dessert! However, The scripture says HE will never put more on your than we can bear, and that's the truth. Finding emotional, physical, spiritual balance is so important. So, I definitely commend her for displaying acts of kindness exhibiting the fruits of spirits.. 🤔..Now I know someone is thinking.. how do you know that she was all those things.. Easy.. Let's keep going: Tabitha became sick and died. It doesn't mention what happen to her, but they took great care of her to make sure she was properly laid to rest and they sent two men to find Peter to ask him to come because they heard he was nearby.. Peter went.. Ok Pause- now knowing the work Peter was doing.. and he stopped what he had going on and went to Joppa for Sister Tabitha.. Now when he arrived the widows where in mourning for their beloved sister..crying to Peter showing him the garments Dorcas [Tabitha] made for them while she was there..

⁉️Now why do you think they called her Dorcas? Why do you think Widows showed Peter the garments she made? I mean I am sure that he knew she was a follower of The Messiah and had good works, why else would he come? ‼See you Friday for 🎬Act 3: The Reaping..
