IDOLATRY- Deadly or Deadliest

Sin is Sin… right!?

I can agree to that! Idolatry is like a sin inside a sin.. Does that make sense?? I say that because think about what the biblical definition vs the Webster definition is:

The definition of idolatry, according to Webster, is “the worship of idols or excessive devotion to, or reverence for some person or thing.”

VS

From the beginning, YAHS covenant with Israel was based on Exclusivity. This means TOTAL UNADULTERATED worship of HIM, and HIM alone (Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 5:7). Think about this..we are not even to mention the names of false gods (Exodus 23:13) because to do so would acknowledge their existence and give credence to their “power” and possibly influence over the people. Example of why the tongue is a powerful member..(James 3:5-12) Proverbs 18:21 Death AND life are in the 👉🏾power of the tongue: and THEY that 👉🏾love it SHALL eat the fruit thereof

Idolatry causes you to not only break the very 1st command.. BUT it shows total disrespect to our Creator. Now.. seeing that you already are exhibiting signs of a disconnect with Righteousness.. what do you think happens next?? Dominoes effect.. Idolatry is like the finger that knocks the dominoes (sin) down one by one until you got a big ole pile of mess!!! .. it seems harmless, but Idolatry could be a spirit or a vice shoot or both tbh! If you worship something or someone sooo much you will provoke AHBA to jealousy.. and who wants that smoke!?? You can worship and crave something or one so bad that it will cause you to steal, lie, commit adultery, kill, covet, break the Sabbath for it… is this clicking? Round 2 tomorrow…

🛡TakeAway: Be very careful tip toeing around Idolatry.. it can cause you to stumble off your walk. The best way to alleviate the urge that may cause you to worship something or one more than The Most High is by continually seeking HIM in all things. Keeping your thoughts focused on doing HIS will at all times🙌🏾
