â ď¸Scripture doesn't quite say anything about her genealogy, but the one thing that is interesting, is Samson had a thing for strange women. I believe his wife was a Out of all the women he had laid with, she is the only one named.. [#message] Why is that I suppose?
Delilah is 1st mentioned in Judges 16:4.. we don't know how they met or thr details.. but hmmm.. sometimes it be just like that. A person will "pop" up out of nowhere..this is why we must Prove these ppl for real sis.. What standards are we holding these people to these days?? Ok, so I went off topic LOL!! But it's true!
So Samson [nazarite] falls in love with Delilah.
Ok, let's back up: Judges 14:1 says Now Samson went down to Timnah, and saw a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines. 2 So he went up and told his father and mother, saying, âI have seen a woman in Timnah of the daughters of the Philistines; now therefore, get her for me as a wife [who later was burned to death]..Now if you keep reading, you will see his parents begged him to take a woman of his own kind.. but he declined.. It is important to know that even some brothers are warned about these Wicked women, but because they are "PLEASING" to the eyes.. they marry them anyway.. risk, tisk!
Delilah is then approached by the Philistine men who bribe her to find out where Samson gains his strength from for a few pieces of... you guessed it! Judges 16:5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of SILVERđ°.. Delilah started with I'll intent. I wouldn't be surprised if the philistines planted her in Samson view because they knew he found their women PLEASING to his eye..
Now.. ALTHOUGH scripture forbids taking on a strange wife, there had to be some provisions since our men were going into them left n rightđ¤Śđžââď¸..EVEN though they were to marry their own kind for various reasons.. REMEMBER SOLOMON..[Neh 13:27, Tobit 4:12,] which is why I am not surprised that they approached her..ALTHOUGH Roman's 8:28 still applies..đđž
