💞Shalom sorry for my tardiness!!! I had to get clarity on something!! Ok, so this part will be a bit short as we really don't see Sis Abigail until the end...BUT very important piece to see why she did what she did.. I can't wait to talk about this on our ☎️sister call tomorrow @7p [if you want to join, send me a message]🙌🏾
Ok, so here what the scripture says: Samuel 25:4-14 And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep. And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name: And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast. And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel. Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David. And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased. And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be? So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings. And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
So to sum it up..David did Nabal a solid and expected the favor to be returned..AND according to scripture, he was RIGHTEOUS in his thinking:
☝🏾Matthew 7:12 - Therefore ALL things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for THIS IS THE LAW and the prophets.
✌🏾Luke 6:31 - And as ye would that men should DO to you, DO YE al6so to them LIKEWISE.
But we see in the next verse, Nabal didn't feel the same.. Clearly he was very prideful and selfish..We know what the scripture says about those kinda men.. Pride comes BEFORE _____!
Here is where we attempt to gain more insight as to why Abigail did what she did in Verse 14: But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he RAILED on them. Let's get a better understanding of RAILED: It is important to see Nabal's character at that moment and how he was definitely NOT acting according to the fruits of the spirit.. RAIL, v.i. Eng. to brawl. To utter reproaches; to SCOFF; to use INSOLENT and REPROACHFUL language; to reproach or censure in opprobrious terms; followed by at or against, formerly by on. RA'ILING 1. Clamoring with INSULTING language; UTTERING REPROACHFUL words. 2. a. Expressing reproach; INSULTING; as a railing accusation. 2Peter 2. RA'ILING, n. Reproachful or insolent language. 1Peter 3. ...Soooo we clearly see what was going on.. You have to see THE MOST HIGH's plan here.. Now Abigail once she was told what happened, I am sure could have acted out and put him on blast matched Nabal's mood..talked down on her husband/house.. Like some of us would have done. OR she could have left him and NOT taken part in what was to come..Cuz King David wasn't playing lol!! ..She could have even made a move to secure her future and safety..Bump Nabal.. House of who?? But did she?? OR did she apply those scriptures to her next move...What would you have done? I am sure some of us have been in this boat... 🚣🏾♀️did you keep rowing.. or jumped ship🏊🏾♀️ UP NEXT 🎬 ACT 3: Bitter or Better
Sis do ya hear me..... lol
David was on his way to put that whole house of Nabal down! David was nothing to play with!
