Shalom sisters! Abigal according to the scripture was NOT only beautiful but wise. Ok #ChannahConfession56 Initially when I had studied Abigail I profoundly stated she was wicked as well because scripture says in Sirach 26:23 a wicked woman is given to a wicked man ..BUT I want to recant today..lol! The reason is I missed one important thing.. Which is why it is important to sometimes go back and read the chapter and/or the chapter before to gain a better understanding! So let's start here why I feel now she was not wicked!
1 Samuel 25:2-3 And there was a man in Maon, whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was VERY GREAT, and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail: and she was a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance: but the man was churlish and evil in his doings; and he was of the house of Caleb. So, it says he was great maybe at that point he was not submerged in wickedness as alotta of our brothers are very great however they sometimes get over taken by the enemy hence Proverbs 24:16-18 For a JUST man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the WICKED shall fall into mischief.. etc Therefore as long as your husband keeps striving for RIGHTEOUS that proves he is RIGHTEOUS.. ok that's a lil bit off topic.. Back to the script! Before it goes deeper into the story.. It let's us know Abigail was 1st of good understanding.. Now it does NOT say he was wicked persay in that verse..However it says his doings were.. So I rest my case on if she was given to a wicked a man because she was wicked. It described his DOINGS as churlish ( which means rude in a MEAN-SPIRITED and surly way) and evil [sounds like he was doing satan bidding to me] 💔 ..Some sisters come to me with that question all the time: why was I given to a wicked man?? When their husbands actions may appear churlish and evil toward them.. I wonder is she thought the same thing.. We shall see...
